5 ways to get motivated for a workout 🏋️‍♂️

Hey MAD Fam

Let’s chat about motivation… 💭

Times are crazy right now, there is so much going on in the world and it can feel so heavy at times.

Not only that, but the start of the year is always hectic and we are just trying to find our feet with new routines etc, so motivation might be running low…

We know how easy it is to snooze that alarm clock, stay on the couch or cancel your gym class, but we also know we will feel 100x better if we just get stuck into it and move our body!

So today, we wanted to chat a bit about what to do if your motivation is running low!

Firstly, you can’t rely on motivation, it’s discipline that gets you over the line! Remember: routine & habits will always back you when your motivation is dwindling!

1. Do a workout you love so it doesn’t feel like a chore

If you’re lacking motivation, make sure you choose a workout you love so it doesn’t feel like a chore! If you hate burpees but choose burpees as your first exercise, it’s not going to feel very motivating going into it! Even if it’s just your first round that is your favourite exercise & then once you have momentum you can start with the harder ones!

2. Have a cute workout outfit (trust us it’ll give you the motivation you need)

We may be a little biassed here, but we swear by a cute new gym fit to get that motivation flowing! Look good, feel good & with a cute new gym fit, you’ll be motivated to put it on and hit up the gym, just trust us on this one.

3. Have a pre workout routine you love that gets you pumped up for your session!

Whether this is sculling your favourite pre workout, having your morning coffee or just putting on your favourite song and dancing around, we HIGHLY suggest having a pre workout pump up moment so you can head into the session ready to hit some PB’s!

4. Remember your ‘WHY’

Why do you work out? Is it to feel better? Is it to be stronger? Is it for your mental health? We all have a reason as to why we workout, so try and focus on that & see your perspective flip! We know when we stopped working out to punish ourselves and started working out to better ourselves, everything changed!

5. Just start, even if it’s small

This might sound like a weird one, but just start, try with 1 squat, a light walk or a quick bicep curl! Somedays all you need to do is not think and just do, this will help you get the ball rolling and usually give you the motivation you need to get into it!

Remember: Not everyday will be your best workout, some days you will need rest, some days you’ll have a jam packed schedule, and that is all well & good, life is busy, take care of yourself and rest when you need… But, if it’s just one of those days where you know you’ll feel better after moving your body, remember these 5 tips & get into it!

Love always
